Know About Wi-Fi Routers
When you get into a store to buy a Wi-Fi router ,you would come across the terms Single-band ,Dual band, N and G. What are these actually?.These are the key terms of the routers and decides your selection good or bad. Almost every current broadband router comes with a Wi-Fi capability. Never go behind a Wi-Fi router by the advertisers claims. Some claim a 300 Mbps speed that’s of no use in the current world. You will never find a hot spot with such a speed. Never look for the speeds, instead look for the features.
The N and G are actually the IEEE standards. N for 802.11n and G for 802.11g . G routers are always cheaper than N and its been used for the past 7 yrs and still stays in the market because of its threat management and powerful firewall features. When you go for only speed, N routers rocks.
N routers are classified into 2 types - Single Band (2.4GHz) and Dual Band (2.4GHz and 5 GHz). Even a single-band N routers are faster than G routers due to the better use of frequency. Dual band routers are much expensive but its worth paying with its whooping speeds than that of a single band.
Fixing A Mechanically Failed Hard Disk
A working hard disk suddenly goes undetected. Just don’t worry. There are ways to solve your problem. The best way would be freezing the hard disk. Leave the hard disk in the freezer over night. Take it out in the morning, wait for sometime for it to get back to the room temperature. Now try running it again. Sounds stupid rite, but it works most of the time (almost 75%).As worn out parts fails to connect, freezing expands these mechanical parts and getting back warm makes it to get into contact again making it to work. Don't trust it for a long time. Better take a back up soon. Make hay while the sun shines.
Google Wave – Be the first to get your hands on it
Are you fond of Google products and services? Why I am asking such a question is that Google has gained more number of fans in recent days. You will be an odd man out if you don’t use Google services. This is the current situation. Coming to the new products of Google, have you heard of Google wave? If the answer is true, then you are catching up to the current trend. It is a web based service and communication protocol. Firstly it is a communication and collaboration tool released by Google. This tool is officially released in a conference on May 27, 2009. With this protocol in hand, you can edit multiple waves in same time. Single wave can be edited with multiple participants too. These are more useful in threaded conversations. Very good news for developers is that the maximum part of the source code for Google wave is kept as open source. This has been kept as open source mainly to increase its usage and popularity among the technical community. With the Google wave in hand, third parties can develop their own wave services in no time. This ‘Wave’ name was inspired from the Firefly television series.
