Why doesn’t Google try the Alexa way?

Search Engine Optimization has always been an interesting work to me, the only part I hate is Google taking a long time to make page rankpage rank updates. When Alexa can make daily rank updates, why not Google. Google’s page rank is always given a higher importance than that of Alexa’s from the very beginning. What’s the big difference between their ranking schemes? While Google looks at the number of backlinks that a site gets from other webpages and hardly sees whether the site gets any traffic or not, Alexa looks at the site’s traffic and gives a very little importance to sites linking to the webpage. Google allots page rank to individual pages while Alexa ranks are for domains. I support Alexa more than the Google’s method of deciding a website’s rank as because a website with 1500 backlinks with full of crap contents may not be as popular as a website with just 20 links with contents on fire, but still Google ranks the latter less. The only weakness of Alexa would be its method of counting traffic with the toolbar logs as the toolbar isn’t that widely used. If an alternate solution for getting the stats of website is being implemented, Google would be in trouble and would be forced to go the Alexa way. The exact ranking of a website cannot be determined as Google divides websites into just ten slots, PR 1 to PR 10, at the same time, Alexa gives sites its individual ranking. No two sites would have unique ranks. This helps for the comparison of site on a better platform.
