Getting your Alexa rank tweaked – Secret Unleashed
Making your site to join the Alexa rank race is not that hard. All you have to do is to get visitors to your site who use the Alexa toolbar. Note this, am saying again, Alexa tracks only the visitors with Alexa toolbar and none other. No redirects or any similar kind of tricks would work here. So all you have to do is to get visitors with this toolbar. For getting this kind of targeted traffic, all you have to do is the same old SEO technique; get your page into the first page of search engine. Now, that’s not the secret, get it for a keyword that would attract Alexa users. I did that and it worked well. I know my Alexa rank is not that good enough to give out tips, but just look at the improvement. Started with a “No Rank” last week, joined the Alexa race with this

Getting into top Alexa position was always a tough task for Search Engine Optimizers. As Alexa rank gaining significance in the internet market, one has to get into top Alexa ranks to attract advertisers. The most common technique, say myth, used for gaining a good Alexa rank was through redirect links.
People use” http://redirect.Alexa.com/redirect?techsw.com” instead of just “www.techsw.com” for link building so that Alexa keeps a count on the visits through these links. This was absolutely useless. Alexa never counted all this redirects says the company. So far, all these redirects were working fine getting end up in the right page. Now, Alexa has put an end to it. All the redirect links are now broken. The entire process of link building with the Alexa redirect is in vain. No hope of Alexa giving a new redirect link nor would they restore the old one.
Note: Alexa is very clear that it only checks the toolbar logs for allocating the ranks.
