Not a dump error, but similar

This was an error I came across when I tried to use windows 7 or Ubuntu Operating Systems. Not a dump errorThe machine was running XP previously and I never got any errors. It’s an AMD machine with 2 GB of RAM. That doesn’t matters now. The scree suddenly goes blank with erroneous lines across and stops responding to anything even Alt+Ctrl+Del. Only a restart will do. After a little research, trying every possible things thinking the problem is with the RAM, I made out that I was wrong. The system error log said that the problem is with the clock rate. The log under the kernel in Ubuntu read as “Clock source tsc unstable (delta = 4685968956 ns)”. So I made out something that makes my processor to over perform is the crap behind all this trouble. I logged into the BIOS and searched for option to restrict my processor clock rate. I couldn’t find any. Then came up with this solution, disabled the ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface). Disabling it stopped the problem, but that was never a good solution. I flashed my BIOS to an older version (as the version of BIOS I had was the latest) and everything went just fine.
