The Concept Behind Torrents

The raise of torrents resulted in the fall in the use of P2P networks. Almost 75 percent of the web community use torrents and only a very fewcares to know what torrent is actually about. Simultaneous upload and download of the same file is the significant feature of this concept. When a file is downloaded by a person through torrents, he actually downloads from multiple users who are downloading the same file or already downloaded the file and the person himself who is downloading is uploading the file (threads) to some other. With such a concept, the load on download servers are reduced as each downloader acts as a server. Downloaders who are performing simultaneous upload and download processes of the same file are called as “peers” while ones who have downloaded and still uploading are called as “seeds”.
