Search Engine Optimization, a new niche that grew along with the growth of internet, is at its peak now. SEO is a trick used to increase the visibility of sites to the web community to gain traffic. It all started as a marketing strategy and now it has become a necessity for all websites as without that no one’s website would get visitors other than accidental clicks.

What SEO’s actually do?

SEOs are of two types- On-Page and Off-Page Optimizations. On-Page optimizations deal with optimizing the page for the keywords, adding meta tags, laying important keywords in H1 or bold texts, Avoiding too much outgoing links, making sure the outgoing links are to similar niche domains etc.

Off-Page optimizations involve link building. Link building is a very important concept of a SEO. It plays a very vital role for search engine positioning. Link building is based on various factors and getting a quality link is very important. Links should be formed with related anchor texts or the keyword for which the SEO is being performed for. Getting a link back from a health spa website for a tech blog would be very much near to of no use. So, the site from which the backlinks are build has to be kept an eye. Buying or selling links is considered to be illegal and might affect the Page Rank of a site. Comments, forum posting, directory submission, social bookmarking are some methods of link building.
